The pictures in the Iron Barbell Gallery of Ancient Iron depict various exercises that will eventually be detailed in the article section.  Please note that these pictures have been painstakingly restored from the originals found in public domain books, or they are originals.  Because of these please ask for permission to use them on a website or other medium.  The emphasis here is not so much on the famous lifters, but the lifts themselves.

 Hack Squat

Walter Donald performing the Hack squat, named from famed wrestler George Hackenschmidt.

 Clean and Jerk

This is the famed early weightlifter Moerke, performing the final stage of the clean and jerk.

Bent Press

The bent press is rarely performed today, requiring much practice and refined skill to do properly, it requires great dedication to master.  See the Bent Press article in our article section.

 Kettlebell curls

This is not really a lift in the traditional sense, but a cool picture of something that may have been made up on the spot for the photographer. It seems like it would be quite challenging with heavy weights.
